TVR Communications is the largest provider of interactive patient education and entertainment products and services in the United States. In 2008, TVRC systems and our 400 employees will deliver education, entertainment and communication services to over 6 million patients at 350 healthcare locations.

History of Innovation:

Since the founding of the company in 1950, TVRC had been a leader in developing and delivering patient education, entertainment and communication services.

1958 - installed televisions in hospitals for patient use

1970 - installed color televisions in hospitals

1981 - installed the first self activating patient television system

1982 - installed an integrated patient content scheduling solution that displayed images in addition to text

1996 - delivered an authoring tool that allowed hospital staff to create patient satisfaction surveys and patient education quizzes

1996 - installed the first interactive television system at a hospital

1999 - developed and installed a web browser that automatically adapted web content to different television displays

2001 - installed first healthcare grade flat-panel LCD TV in a hospital

2002 - delivered online prescriptive education content ordered by hospital staff and viewed at the patient bed

2005 - deployed an automated wide area network management solution for hospital patient services

2007 - deployed the first true HDTV solution (TV, content and distribution) in America
